Why track water?

About 55-60% of an adult body is water. Per the EFSA 2010 NDA Panel, daily need is 2.0-2.5 litres (including food); around 1.5-2 litres as drinking water is enough. Activity, heat, pregnancy and breastfeeding raise this target.

The classic "8 glasses a day" is a practical start; for personalisation, the body weight × 30 ml formula works better. Enter your weight on the calorie calculator page and it shows a personal ml target.
