Cookie Policy
Tatonia uses cookies only to keep the site working and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website leaves in your browser. It is commonly used to remember that you are signed in, keep your language and theme preference, and perform some security checks.
Which cookies does Tatonia use?
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to work and cannot be turned off. There are four of them:
- Session: Remembers that you are signed in; cleared when you log out.
- Form safety: Prevents misuse of form submissions like reviews or password changes.
- Language: Keeps your choice between Turkish and English. Valid for a year.
- Theme: Remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. Valid for a year.
Functional preferences
Small preferences such as age confirmation for alcoholic drink recipes or announcements you dismissed are kept locally in your browser (device-specific, not shared). They never leave your device.
What we deliberately don't use
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar advertising and tracking tools. We do not follow your behaviour, and we do not fingerprint you. This is not an oversight; it is a deliberate choice. A recipe platform does not need these tools, and you do not deserve to become an advertising target simply for reading recipes. Even our error-tracking tool does not place a cookie in your browser.
How to manage cookie preferences
- You can delete or block all cookies from your browser settings. In Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge the path is usually similar: Settings, Privacy, Cookies.
- When you choose "Delete account", the session cookie is cancelled instantly. Your account, adaptations, and reviews are permanently removed within 90 days.
- Impact: If you block essential cookies entirely, you cannot sign in. Features that rely on an account, like saving favourites or posting a recipe, will not work.
If this policy changes
When we update this page, the "Last update" date at the top refreshes. If we make a significant change, we send a notice to your registered email address.
