Puree the onion, garlic, ginger, and green pepper.
Cook the onion puree in oil for 8 minutes until its aroma sweetens.
Add the cumin, cilantro, turmeric, and garam masala and saute for 2 minutes.
Add the tomatoes and thicken the sauce for 8 minutes.
Add the chickpeas and 1 cup of hot water.
Cook over low heat for 15 minutes and mash some of the chickpeas.
Finish with lemon juice and cilantro and serve.
