Finely shred savoy cabbage, boil in the same water for 4 minutes, and drain.
Soften the onions in half the butter for 9 minutes.
Mash potatoes and turnip with remaining butter, salt, and black pepper.
Mix cabbage and onion into the mash and transfer to a baking dish.
Sprinkle with cheddar and bake at 200°C for 25 minutes until browned.
