Divide the glutinous rice flour between two bowls, knead one with pumpkin puree and the other with warm pandan water.
When the doughs are soft, roll them into hazelnut sized balls.
Boil water in a wide pot and cook the rice balls until they float to the surface.
Lift the balls out with a strainer, rinse briefly in cold water, and keep them from sticking.
Heat the coconut milk, granulated sugar, palm sugar, and salt over low heat.
Add the rice balls to the coconut milk and simmer gently for 4 minutes.
Divide the bua loy into small bowls and serve warm or at room temperature.
💡 Tip: Do not make the balls too large; when rolled small, the center cooks at the same time they float.
🍽️ Serving suggestion: Serve warm and drizzle a little extra coconut milk on top if desired.
