Whisk the cornelian cherry tarhana with lukewarm water and let it stand for 10 minutes.
Finely chop the onion.
Soften the onion in vegetable oil for 5 minutes.
Add the tomato paste and pepper paste, and fry for 1 minute.
Add the hot water to the pot and bring to a boil.
Pour in the loosened tarhana while stirring constantly.
Cook the soup over low heat for 10 minutes and balance with salt.
