Dice the onion and cut the carrots and zucchini into large cubes.
Sear the lamb in olive oil for 7 minutes.
Add the onion and garlic and cook for 4 minutes, until softened.
Add the tomato puree, spices, salt, hot water, and chickpeas to the pot.
Cook the meat and vegetables over medium low heat for 30 minutes.
Add the berkoukes grains and cook for 14 minutes, stirring.
When the consistency thickens, rest for 5 minutes and serve hot.
