Grind the walnuts. Melt the butter.
Layer the phyllo sheets in the tray, brushing butter between the layers.
Scatter walnuts after every 3 to 4 sheets.
Cut into baklava pieces. Bake in a 170°C oven for 45 minutes.
Prepare the syrup: boil the sugar and water, then add the lemon.
Pour the cold syrup over the hot baklava.
Finish the baklava portions with an emphasis on walnuts and serve.
💡 Tip: If the baklava is fresh from the oven, pour cold syrup over it. If the baklava has cooled, use hot syrup. If both are hot, the pastry will not absorb the syrup properly.
