Wash the dried apricots, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes, and drain.
Boil the water and granulated sugar in a small pot.
Add the apricots to the syrup and cook for 10 minutes, until tender.
Transfer the apricots to a serving plate and thicken the remaining syrup in the pot for 3 minutes.
Melt the butter in a small pan and drizzle it over the apricots.
Sprinkle with walnut kernels and cinnamon, then serve warm.
