Wash the dried apricots, soak any firm ones in hot water for 10 minutes, and drain.
Put the apricots in a pot, add the water, and soften over medium heat for 8 minutes.
Add the granulated sugar and cook for 6 minutes, until the apricots absorb a glossy syrup.
Add the butter and gently shake the pot; not crushing with a spoon keeps the apricots whole.
Coarsely break the walnuts and toast them in a dry pan for 2 minutes, until fragrant.
Transfer the apricot dessert to a serving plate and serve warm with walnuts and cinnamon.
💡 Tip: If sun-dried apricots are very firm, soak them in hot water for 10 minutes; if they fall apart, kasefe turns into compote.
