Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Rub the butter into the flour.
Add the warm water little by little and knead a soft dough.
Rest the dough for 15 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces, roll into rounds, and make a small hole in the center of each.
Fry the tortas fritas in hot oil for 2 minutes on each side.
Transfer to paper towels, sprinkle with sugar, and serve hot.
