Mix the warm milk, dry yeast, and granulated sugar, then wait 8 minutes for it to foam.
Add the flour, egg, salt, and half the butter, then knead a soft dough.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for 70 minutes.
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, and soften the remaining butter.
Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread on the butter, and scatter over the cinnamon sugar.
Roll up the dough, cut it into 8 pieces with dental floss, and arrange them in the tray.
Let the rolls rise a second time for 35 minutes.
Bake the cinnamon rolls at 180°C for 22 minutes.
Whisk the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla, then spread it over the warm rolls.
💡 Tip: Use dental floss instead of a knife when cutting the dough; the roll will not be crushed and the layers open more neatly in the oven.
🍽️ Serving suggestion: Serve cinnamon rolls warm, with optional filter coffee or unsweetened tea on a breakfast tray.
