Soak a clean cotton cloth in boiling water, wring it out, spread it open, and dust it with flour.
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, spices, and salt.
Rub the butter into the dry mixture and add the dried fruit.
Add the egg and milk to make a thick dough.
Place the dough in the center of the cloth and tie it with room left at the top.
Boil the dumpling in water for 2 hours 30 minutes.
Remove it from the cloth and dry the surface in the oven for 10 minutes.
Once the crust sets, cut thick slices and serve warm.
