Soak the bulgur in hot water for 15 minutes and let it swell.
Cook half of the ground beef with the onion for 8 minutes, then add the walnuts.
Knead the bulgur, remaining ground beef, pepper paste and spice for a long time.
Spread half the outer mixture in the tray, add the filling and cover with the remaining bulgur mixture.
Bake at 180°C for 30 to 32 minutes, until browned.
💡 Tip: Kneading the outer mixture until it becomes paste-like keeps the slices from falling apart.
