Mix the wheat flour, cornmeal, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Add the warm water gradually and knead a soft dough.
Cover the dough and rest it for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 12 pieces and shape each piece into a short stick.
Heat the vegetable oil to 175°C and place the dough pieces in the pan with space between them.
Fry the festivals for 6-7 minutes, turning, until golden.
Transfer to paper towels, rest for 3 minutes, and serve hot.
💡 Tip: Do not knead the dough too stiff; a texture that lightly sticks to the hand is enough for the festival to stay bread-soft inside.
