Rinse and drain the short-grain rice.
Boil the rice and water in a pot for 5 minutes so the rice absorbs part of the water.
Add the milk and lower the heat to the lowest setting once it begins to boil.
Cook the risengrod for 32 minutes with the lid ajar, stirring often.
Add the salt and cook for 5 more minutes, until porridge-like.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon, and cut the butter into small pieces.
Spoon the hot porridge into bowls and serve with cinnamon sugar and butter.
