Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Add the melted butter and water, then knead a soft dough.
Cover the dough and rest it for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 balls, roll each into a round, and make a small slit in the center.
Heat the vegetable oil to about 175°C and fry the dough rounds two at a time for 3 minutes.
Transfer the fried dough to paper towels and drain the excess oil.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve hot.
💡 Tip: Cut a small slit in the center of each dough round; it keeps the middle from puffing too much and staying raw while frying.
