Knead the flour, water, and salt into a medium-firm dough.
Cover the dough and rest it for 25 minutes.
Stir the clotted cream and butter in a pan over low heat for 12 minutes until they reach a darti consistency, then cool.
Boil the honey, water, and lemon juice for 6 minutes to make a warm syrup.
Divide the dough into 8 balls and roll each one thinly.
Divide the darti among the centers of the dough rounds, close each like a bundle, and flatten lightly.
Fry the desserts in 170°C oil for 4 minutes, removing them when both sides take on a light color.
Dip the fried pieces in warm syrup for 2 minutes, transfer them to a serving plate, sprinkle with walnut kernels, and serve.
💡 Tip: Cool the darti completely before spreading it on the dough; a hot filling loosens the dough and can make it open during frying.
🍽️ Serving suggestion: Serve Duzce Melenguccegi in small slices with Turkish coffee and optional clotted cream.
