Peel the cassava root and grate it finely.
Squeeze the grated cassava in a clean cloth until no water drips out.
Grate the onion and mix it with the cassava.
Add salt and shape tight small balls.
Heat the oil over medium heat.
Fry the balls for 14-16 minutes, until browned all over.
Drain on paper towels and serve with coconut slices.
