Beat the butter and sugar for 5 minutes, until pale.
Add the eggs one by one, then add the flour and salt.
Loosen the guava jam with water over low heat until spreadable.
Spread a very thin layer of batter on the tray and bake in a 200°C oven for 4 minutes.
Spread the hot cake thinly with jam and roll it tightly.
Repeat with new thin layers and keep enlarging the roll.
Once completely cool, slice thinly.
💡 Tip: The layers should be almost paper thin; if they bake thick, the roll cracks and the striped look disappears.
