Boil the noodles for 1 minute less than the package says, then drain.
Heat the oil in a pot and saute the onion and garlic for 3 minutes.
Add the diced chicken and stir for 6 minutes.
Add the chicken stock, carrot, cabbage, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Cook the soup over medium heat for 12 minutes.
Add the shrimp and noodles, and boil for 4 minutes.
Dissolve the starch in a little water, add it to the soup, and thicken for 2 minutes.
Stream in the beaten eggs and serve with scallions.
