Peel the yam and cut it into large cubes.
Saute the onion, tomatoes, and pepper in palm oil for 5 minutes.
Add the yam, water, and salt, then cook covered.
Add the fish in large pieces.
When the yam is tender, mash part of it inside the pot to thicken the dish.
Add the spinach and cook for 3 more minutes.
💡 Tip: Mashing part of the yam makes the dish starchy and thick.
