Loosen the tapioca starch with 1 cup of cold water.
Boil the tucupi with garlic, hot pepper, and salt for 10 minutes.
Add the starch mixture and stir for 5 minutes, until translucent.
Boil the jambu or chard separately for 3 minutes and drain.
Add the shrimp to the soup and cook for 4 minutes, until pink.
Place the greens in bowls and ladle the hot tacaca over them.
💡 Tip: If tapioca is added without loosening it in cold water first, rubbery lumps form in the soup.
🍽️ Serving suggestion: Serve in hot bowls, with a lime wedge on the side if desired.
